8 ideas to keep the children busy at home

Corona: a topic that occupies us all and causes us concern. Children also suffer from it. At the moment, they have to stay at home as well and can no longer go to school or kindergarten. So it can get boring at home. Therefore we have created 8 points how parents can keep their children busy at home. These ideas do not only help against boredom, the children can also learn a lot.

1. Get creative with adhesive tape: With adhesive tape or insulating tape you can do a lot of things. For example, you can stick "streets" on the floor with tape. And now all you need are toy cars and obstacles. Then the road traffic can begin! Another idea with the tape is the game "Heaven and Hell". Boxes are formed with the tape. Each box contains a number. You start with the 1 at the bottom, then the 2 and the 3 are placed side by side in two boxes. And on and on until there is not enough room. The children jump with their feet into the boxes. Either with one leg or with both legs. In this game the children can learn the numbers at the same time.

2. Balloon table tennis: For this creative game you need a balloon and paper plates and kitchen towel rolls. The paper plates and kitchen towel rolls are used to make table tennis bats. The plates serve as the batting surface of the table tennis racket and the kitchen towel rolls as bats. Afterwards the balloon only needs to be inflated. The game is also suitable for playing in the garden.

3. Children's Yoga: Yoga is not only for adults who have back problems. No, children can also participate. On YouTube there are some videos about it. So children can do something for their health and have fun, whether alone or together with their parents.

4. Handicrafts: You can decorate the house very nicely with homemade art. You can either make things to match the season or the festival. For example painting Easter eggs, making flowers and much more! And you can often do this with materials you already have at home, such as cotton wool or coloured paper.

5. Baking: cakes, muffins or cookies. You don't need to have a birthday for that. Now is the perfect time to let off steam in the kitchen. For example, you can form an Easter bunny or use colourful food colouring and crumbles. The more colourful, the more fun for young and old! And don't forget, the eye eats with you.

6. Plastic toys - bubble bath: Hygiene is the be-all and end-all, not only for us humans. Children's toys also need to be washed at times. To turn the plaster into great fun, all you need is a container for the bubble bath, a (tooth)brush, shampoo and plastic toys that deserve a shower. And then the cheerful scrubbing can begin. This is also how children learn how important hygiene is and what is important. The parents can give good tips.

7. Sugar Writing Tablet: This sugar writing tablet is not only quite sweet, but also very helpful. Because the children can practice the German alphabet and spelling in the meantime. For this you need a flat tablet, sugar and something to "write" on. The parents can give the children words to write. Then the children try to write down the word in the sugar with the "pen". Who else likes to write on paper?!

8. Dressing up - role-playing: Every child loves adventure. Adventure can also be experienced at home. How about role playing? To put yourself in the roles even better, you can disguise yourself. Whether princess, cowboy or pirate. Maybe you can find more by taking a closer look in the wardrobe.

More information to these ideas and more can be found here.

Let your creativity run free and have fun trying it out! And of course don't forget to wash your hands before playing.
