Domestic violence - Where can I get help?

At the moment we are forced to spend a lot of time at home. But not for all people their own home is a place where they can rest. Some people experience violence in their homes. There are different forms of violence - for example physical violence or psychological violence.

If you are affected by domestic violence, we have listed some people you can contact.

Always remember: You are not alone with this problem! And there is always someone who will listen and help.

  • If you are looking for information, you can read through this short booklet. This parent letter is available in German, Arabic, Turkish and Russian.
     
  • There is a help phone for affected women. You can reach it at any time on 08000 116 006 or here in the chat between 12 - 8 pm.
    On this site you can also find help in German Sign Language and in many other different languages.
     
  • In a women's refuge women who experience violence can get help. Here you can search for women's refuges in your area.
     
  • Here you can get a brochure in easy german from the women's refuges in Germany with information about violence in your own home.
     
  • The organization WEISSER RING has set up a page where you can also get advice online. You can as well enter your location there and find advice in your area.
    There is also a telephone for people who have been victims of violence. The number is 116 006.
     
  • In case of sexual abuse you can find help here. In the help portal about sexual abuse you can find information for adults, teenagers and children. There are different contact points in each region and tips for people who want to support the victims.
    There is also a phone number where you can get help: 0800 22 55 530 (Monday, Wednesday, Friday, 9 am - 14 pm)
     
  • For children and young people there is a help telephone number 116 111, which can be reached Monday to Saturday from 2 - 8 pm and Monday, Wedneyday, Thursday from 10 am – 12 pm.
     
  • Of course you can as well always reach the police on the number 110!
